“Liliana models ethical storytelling in real time and treats communities’ stories with care and respect.”
Meet Liliana Maria
As someone with lived experience of forced migration, storyteller and anthropologist, I understand both the power and the responsibility that comes with sharing stories.
For many years I watched stories of people from refugee, asylum seeker and migrant backgrounds being collected, interpreted and shared without meaningful consideration of ownership, consent, power or long-term impact.
Moving Cultures Moving Stories was created to change that.
My work helps organisations, educators and communities engage with storytelling in ways that centre dignity, agency and cultural respect, while creating opportunities for genuine understanding and connection.
